To assist you, I have summarised eight of the most common traditional style types that my clients usually resonate with. It may be that you wholeheartedly align yourself with one or that you find yourself associated with elements of a few. Creating Your Own Personal Style
Understanding the different style types can help you identify what resonates with you and create a wardrobe that truly reflects who you are. However, it's important to remember that you don't have to fit neatly into any one type. Your personal style can be a combination of different types, or it can be entirely unique to you. There are many deviations and subdivisions of these classic style types which all have their own individual nuances, such as Dark Academia which is similar to a preppy style but in darker tones, or grunge which has similarities to Rock but more oversized, or athleisure which has it’s routes in sportswear to create a Relaxed style. You may also prefer to dress with details from specific eras, such as the 50s style. Whatever your preferences, you can make your style your own by getting really clear on elements that you do or don’t like and building them into your clothing and outfits.
When creating your personal style, start by identifying what you love about each type. Do you love the clean lines of classic style, but also want to incorporate some bohemian pieces into your wardrobe? Do you love the boldness of edgy style, but also want to add some romantic pieces to soften the look? Experimenting with different styles and mixing and matching different pieces is the key to creating a personal style that is uniquely you.
