Ageless Elegance: The Bloggers Mastering Style After 40/50/60

We had some great discussions at the recent Body Positivity event I spoke at a Jigsaw about the effect of aging and [peri] menopause on our clothing choices and style. I’d coincidentally just finished listening to Kat Farmer’s audible book, 'Get Changed.' In it, she beautifully articulates how women over 40 continue to embrace and evolve their style as they age, a departure from years gone by when we were written off as wearing beige crimplene at 40! This sentiment deeply resonated with me as my beloved Gran, who passed away last year after 92 years, never conformed to notions of 'old age' attire. She loved dressing up with a bit of sparkle, putting her lipstick on and heading on the bus into Bath for a browse around M&S and Debenhams to see what was new. She had no intention of dressing how her mother used to and instead dressed in a modern and timeless way.

As we journey through life, our bodies and lifestyles inevitably change. It necessitates a reevaluation of our style, a task that can be quite daunting. How do we strike that delicate balance between being modern and timelessness? How do we ensure our clothes complement our form, offering comfort and style, without veering into 'frumpy' territory? And how can we infuse a touch of the latest trends without looking too young? It’s a fine balance, but finding a source of inspiration is invaluable. It's akin to seeking a new cookbook when you’re fed up of cooking the same old recipes. So where can you find inspiration?
